You have hit the nail on the head exactly espicially with the comparison to T.O.
Because of this suckering in of the public I have moved away from watching NHL hockey and gone almost exclusively to WHL
No thanks to Gary Bettman and Bob Goodenow, NHL hockey has become the most expensive spectator sport in North America. They have taken the game away from the average Joe and Jane on the street and handed it over to the corporate suits. Now that there is a salary cap and revenue sharing, how come fans are still footing the bill? If the fans don't show up, tickets won't come down, only threats of a move out of town. By the way, how expensive or cheap were Edmonton Oiler tickets during the Gretzky era? It sickens me when I hear that Winnipeg and Quebec City don't qualify for an NHL return because they lack corporate support. Give the game back to the true fans. Put the corporate suits in the corporate boxes. The stands are for the fans.
And WHAT a "sucker" public it is in Vancouver - keep on wasting your valuably earned money on over-priced lack of entertainment filling the pockets of millionaires (the players) and billionaires (the owners) while you smile your dollars away watching your brothers starving on the streets of Vancouver's downtown Eastside ... get real, Vancouver - grow up already!
