Way ta go Pratt. I'm very glad that Canadians are finally starting to realize that its called hockey night in Canada: not Leafs night in Canada. CBC should realize that the toronto maple Leafs are not Canada's team and that there are five other Canadian teams. It just made me sick when the leafs started winning hockey games after the trade dead line because the media would start giving them extra coverage. I also didn't like it when Dave Nonis's press conference got cut-off in favor of Cliff Fletcher on the trade deadline day.
Are u still yammering on about this??? haven't you got anything better to whine about? You should know better man. It's a business first and foremost, and where does the advertising dollars come from for the cbc? Toronto...I would hazard to guess that a major percentage of the entire CBC's revenue comes from HNIC and the advertisers want eyes on their product. The Maple Leafs are one of the best known brands in the world...up there with the MAN U's and the NYY. I know it pains you to hear that out west but it's true. Besides, it's kinda like the folks in Edmonton and Calgary feel about your friend taylor's broadcasts on sportsnet each night having to hear about the canucks on nights when they don't even play and both edmonton and calgary do...and hearing about the local junior teams out there. You're not going to please all of the people all of the time, so you might as well please the most while you can and the fact of the matter is that there are more leaf fans in this country (by far) than any other team...HANDS DOWN!
